Sweet Relief Musician’s Fund
Helping music industry workers in need
“Music gives us so much. We want to give back to those who share it with us.”
Sweet Relief Musician’s Fund provides financial assistance to music industry workers in need nationwide.
All types of career musicians and music industry workers are struggling to make ends meet while facing physical or mental health issues, disability, or age-related problems. Our mission is to help. We want to be a source of relief by helping pay bills, provide groceries, cover medical expenses and more.
-
The music industry, like many others, often lacks provided healthcare and benefits. This means many people struggle when facing a mental or physical illness, disability, or crisis.
In 1995, Victoria Williams was forced to drop from her career-making tour with Neil Young after experiencing debilitating symptoms. Later she would be diagnosed with MS. In order to help cover her medical debt, a group of friends assembled an album of her work titled “Sweet Relief.” This inspired Victoria to do the same for others, which started this cause.
“We don’t want to exist. But we do of course. Music has given us so much. We want to help give back to those who bring music to life.” -Tatiana Day (Operations Manager)

We provide grants to recipients all across the country. Everyone from recording artists, club and session musicians, composers & songwriters from across the country, road crew, agents, and managers.
We have over fifty different fund categories helping people suffering from a wide range of conditions. Financial grants are paid directly to medical providers, hospitals, and other third party entities. Assistance is available to qualified applicants located in the U.S. and Canada.

"Sweet Relief made getting assistance painless and simple. I couldn’t be more grateful. The application is quick. So was the response. Their genuine desire to help the art community is apparent. Asking for help can be hard, Sweet Relief makes it easy."
- Matt Rieger | Musician, Sweet Relief Grant Recipient
“Sweet Relief had a simple application process and responded faster than any grant or financial aid opportunity I've ever applied to. As a chronically-ill full-time artist with expensive health care needs, I often feel like I have to choose between making my art and maintaining my physical well being. I was grateful for Sweet Relief's assistance so I can do both.”
- Micah Bournes | Musician, Sweet Relief Grant Recipient
"Sweet Relief helped me and my family in a time of great need... As a mother of 2.5 kids and the main breadwinner for my family, I was not sure how saving for maternity leave would be a possibility or how my family will financially survive my leave. Thanks to Sweet Relief, we are a huge step closer to our goal! I will be forever grateful for their help and beautiful hearts to support musicians with needs like mine. Thank you Sweet Relief!"
- Abbe Lewis | Singer-Songwriter, Sweet Relief Grant Recipient
"Sweet Relief was there to help when I had a new disability that affected my ability to work. They funded some medical care and other bills. Brittani was very attentive, helpful and quick. She made the process easy and I am very grateful to her and Sweet Relief. They walk the walk in helping artists. Thank you"
