Common Ground Society advocates for a more inclusive society.

We serve families who have loved ones with disabilities while also educating our community on how to be inclusive. When you find out your child has a disability, whether it’s visible or not, it can be overwhelming. It’s a new journey with ups and downs and there’s so much to learn. We understand this experience because we have been through it too. That’s why it’s our mission to help families going through this journey. But we also want to let the world know, regardless of these disabilities, we’re very much the same. We share common ground.

Having a child who has a disability, a unique need, or on a different path from the typical experience, can be hard to navigate.
We’re here to advocate for this community while providing support programs for families.
Educational Presentations: We offer presentations to schools to better inform our communities about disabilities. We have three different presentations that focus on: visible disabilities, invisible disabilities, and our similarities.
Community Events: We put together different events throughout the year for anyone with a disability to connect with others.
Family Support: We provide support bags to families who have a new baby, are in the hospital, going through a new diagnosis, or even grieving the loss of a loved one.
Grief Program: Our support system for those struggling with new diagnosis, health problems, and loss.
Our biggest need is fundraising.
We host a yearly Gala that provides roughly 55% of our funding. We receive governmental grants and charge for our education presentations. Our donor base contributes less than 20% of our funding.
You can help by taking part in our Gala or donating each month so we can better serve others.
We’ve been able to reach 183 schools and informed nearly 73,000 students, all thanks to those who’ve supported our cause.
